Credential Requirements: 

  • Valid California Multiple Subjects Credential with ELA or CLAD/BCLAD
  • Pupil Personnel Credential/School Counseling or School Psychology and/or Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification, highly desired

Education:  A minimum of B.A. in applied behavioral sciences, psychology or social work preferred;  Must be fluent in English and a designated second language (Spanish); CPR/First Aid Certification required before first day of employment.

Experience: A minimum of two to five years experience in school settings including staff development, in-service training. A minimum of one (1) year of successful teaching experience.  Desired experience: Familarity with Language Development Testing (CELDT), familiarity with California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASP)

Responsibilities: Support classroom teachers in providing assistance with Positive Behavior Intervention Support for Student Behavior/Discipline. Assist teachers in the identification of appropriate interventions for students.   Facilitate team meetings, presentations, and trainings focused on Student Behavior and Discipline that are in line with the school’s philosophy, instructional goals and curriculum objectives. Conduct Parent Workshops; Analyze assessment data (CELDT, CAASP) and other site based assessments to identify trends and provide reports to site administration.  Assist in home/school relations, coordinate parent committee meetings and provide parent training and classes; Collaborate with site administrators, teachers, students and parents to enhance school programs.

Brief Description of the Position: Under the direction and supervision of the School Director/or designee, provides support and training to the general education classroom teacher as part of Positive Behavior Intervention Support for Student Behavior/Discipline.
