Got Music?
A warm welcome to Ms. Shin- EBC's music teacher. Ms. Shin is an accomplished musician with a passion for sharing her knowledge with students. Students at all grade levels will attend music classes for approximately 45 minutes each week. Students work on singing, rhythm, and note reading.

Our long term plan includes students working with musical instruments. At this time we are currently seeking funding/donations or reduced pricing to purchase musical instruments such as recorders for students, simple percussion instruments and a portable keyboard for music instruction. For more information about making a donation or how to support our music program, please contact Dr. Meyer Associate Director (714-836-9023) or refer to our website under the "Support EBC Tab" .
EBC and all public schools transition into the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) this year which will help create a common foundation of high academic expectations for all students by defining the core 21st Century Competencies, and knowledge that students should acquire at each grade level through an integrated standards-based system of education in which both academic content standards and "Habits of Mind" are an essential part of the whole. EBC is excited to further prepare our students for college and the challenges that face our 21st century learners as they prepare for a life time of success.

EBC is proud of both grade levels for their hard work and commitment to going to college! Great job to our parents for supporting their child in their educational career and of courses to all of our teachers who work hard every day.
EBC Annual Carnival - The Great Outdoors
Our school carnival is Friday, May 30th, from 4-8PM here at EBC. The theme this year is "The Great Outdoors" and you are encouraged to dress up for the occasion. We will have food, games, prizes, and much more! This year we have many great business and community partners providing information and services about local community resources. We hope to see you all there!
Parents: Please Take the EBC School Survey for LCAP funding
As part of the new Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), all schools are required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP is required to identify goals and measure progress for student subgroups across multiple performance indicators. The LCAP is an important component of the LCFF. Under the LCFF all public schools are required to prepare an LCAP, which describes how they intend to meet annual goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities identified pursuant to California Education Code Section 52060(d).

In short, the State of California changed the funding formula for public education and requires Edward B. Cole Sr Academy to develop a Local Control and Accountability Plan. This plan must align educational goals with financial resources.
We would like to hear from you!
