Hours:  Part Time- 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.; Monday-Friday in accordance with the school year calendar.  

Salary: $12.00 per hour

General Description of the Position: Our instructional assistants complement our teachers in the classroom to achieve a low student to teacher ratio.  Under the direction of certificated personnel, the instructional assistant will support appropriate student behavior, provide learning experiences to individual students and small groups, provide a variety of supportive tasks and follow up activities, such as material and class preparation, data collection, organization, recess duty, clerical work, whole school initiatives,  and other related work as required.

Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma with 48 college units or AA degree or higher ( Bachelor’s Degree Preferred)

·         Bilingual in Spanish ( read and write)

·         Familiarity working with students in a tutoring environment

·         CPR and First Aid Certified (before first day of work)

·         TB and DOJ Clearance ( before first day of work)

·         Ability to demonstrate an understanding, patient and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups

·         Effective communication skills in oral and written from in English

·         Ability to perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment

·         Willing to learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of a positive educational environment

·         Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults

·         Sensitivity to the needs of young children
